Watch this great video from our supplier Earth Rugs!
Jute is grown organically in the richest delta soil on earth, in Bangladesh. Stalks are opened to reveal raw natural jute fiber. Raw natural jute fiber can be woven into raw natural rugs or spun into yarn.
Yarn is dyed into rich vibrant colors and dried in natural air and sunshine. Dyed yarn is carefully selected for braiding on machines. These braids are sewn together to make natural jute rugs.
Ultimately, when a natural jute rug goes to a landfill, the fiber returns to the earth like a leaf that falls from a tree. The cycle of renewal begins again.
